Following a series of site and business function reviews carried out by our Corporate HS&E team the programmes listed below are being developed or enhanced in UCB during 2008 to build on existing practices in our business:
- Establishment of UCB HS&E standards and supporting materials and auditing their implementation at facilities
- Consolidation of our substance hazard assessment strategy and MSDS creation processes
- Development of an occupational hygiene strategy, workplace exposure standards and identification of appropriate engineering solutions
- Completion of the initial phases of roll-out of our HS&E management information system: substance data sheet administration and HS&E adverse event notification
- Review implementation of the tools and guidance available to facilities from our roll-out of the UCB Crisis Preparedness Manual in 2007
- Provide HS&E assessment protocols to support colleagues' selection of business partners such as key suppliers and contract manufacturers.
