R&D Executive

The R&D operations at the biopharmaceutical companies that discover and develop new drugs, medicinal or healthcare products encompass a number of different functions or departments as follows

Undertaking the discovery of potential new compounds, both small and large molecules and early stage, pre-clinical development.

Undertaking the biological characterisation, testing and production of new compounds in sufficient quantities and under stringent quality control procedures for clinical trial purposes.

Undertaking the clinical development of potential new drugs.

Undertaking the filing and registration of new drugs that are due to enter clinical trials and be marketed, with a variety of government agencies and regulatory bodies.
